Joe Redington Sr

A few weeks ago I was contacted by someone who is a huge fan of the Iditarod. She asked me to make a Joe Redington Sr doll. Joe is considered the father of the Iditarod. I told her I would try. I collected pictures of Joe online and got to work. I am very pleased with the way he turned out. I shipped him last week and I just got an email from the lady that bought him and she is thrilled! It sure made my day.

Lance Mackey

Last year I was asked if I was willing to donate a doll to the Lance Mackey fundraiser. For those who don't know who this is, Lance Mackey is a famous dogmusher here in Alaska. He is the world's first & only 4 time Yukon Quest & 4 time Iditarod champion!  What a challenge. I am always a little nervous about trying to make a doll that looks like someone but I was willing to give it a try. I made the doll and it raised $400 for the fundraiser.Since then I have made three more Lance dolls. They have all found a new home.

Summer 2011

I can't believe it's been a year since I wrote on my blog. I have been getting a lot of request for a website. Until now I have been using Etsy and Face book and it's worked well for me. But there are a lot of people that are not on Face book and if you want to use Etsy you have to create a Etsy account. Some people don't feel comfortable doing that. So instead of using a website I think I will use my blog instead. I will do my best to keep it up to date and will post pictures of all my new creations.

When people move to Alaska, they must feel the need to wear as much fur as they possibly can.
